Classify the source type AND sub-type: Book: methodology (process-focused), reference (lookup-focused), narrative (story-focused) Scientific paper: methods (new technique), survey (literature review), empirical (measurement study), position (argument/opinion) Personal notes: how-to (procedural), reflective (lessons learned), reference (collected facts) The sub-type drives extraction heuristics downstream: methods papers concentrate process in the Method section; surveys require cross-source synthesis; empirical papers have process in experimental design; books tend to have explicit roles and artifacts; notes embed goals in prose.

#3	Assess explicitness	Read the 'PIN-3 Assess explicitness' activity from playbook 'Playbook for Playbooks' (workflow 'Prepare for Ingestion'). Follow its guidance when assisting me. Identify what is explicit (named roles, defined steps, listed outputs) vs. implicit (assumed knowledge, undocumented actors, unstated constraints). Capture findings in an "Implicit Items" section at the top of the Extraction Worksheet: - What roles/agents are assumed but unnamed? - What prerequisite knowledge or tools are assumed? - What constraints are implied but not stated? These flags prime the EKN extraction steps — implicit items need active inference, not just transcription. Without this record they evaporate between PIN and EKN.
